This is the story of a family who traveled around Japan, bringing their Quickie Q50R Carbon power wheelchair all the way from Australia.

From the cityscapes of Tokyo to historic temples and shrines, I'll share the irreplaceable experiences I had throughout Japan, traveling through Tokyo, Kawagoe, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Hiroshima, all while enjoying the Quickie Q50R Carbon.

With the Quickie Q50R Carbon, navigating Tokyo's trains was a breeze!

 

Even the ticket gates were so easy! I was able to pass through with no problem.

 

In shopping streets, on tactile paving blocks, and throughout the city, of course.

 

I was also able to go to shrines and temples.

 

Even the narrow slopes of the shrine are easily navigated!

 

Even the wet roads on rainy days, and even these narrow roads

 

Even on small cobblestone paths, and next to deer...

 

Even a slope this loooong— look at this powerful performance, I went up smoothly!

 

When I absolutely couldn't find an elevator or escalator, I would climb the stairs and fold up my Quickie Q50R Carbon and have my family carry it for me.

 

On the last day, at the airport.

I folded up my Quickie Q50R Carbon suitcase, removed the joystick and checked it in as checked baggage.

This is an important tip for traveling by plane. (Actually, on the flight there, I checked my luggage with the joystick still attached, and part of it ended up breaking... *sob*)

 

Thanks to the support of my family and the features of the foldable Quickie Q50R Carbon Power Wheelchair, we were able to complete the entire trip together as a family, without having to give up on going somewhere alone, waiting somewhere, or going home early.

The battery lasted all day, so I didn't need to carry a charger with me.

Are these chairs safe to fly with on any airline in Australia?  The Q50 R Carbon has received International Air Transport Association (IATA) travel approval.
