Sunrise Medical is a leading manufacturer and distributor of medical devices. As a responsible company, it recognises that environmental protection is part of a wider sustainability agenda.
We will endeavour, wherever possible, to use natural sustainable and recycled resources to prevent pollution and continually improve our environmental performance.
We will deliver this environmental policy through the following principles:
- Management Commitment
All Management and associates will take responsibility for ensuring that this environmental policy is implemented, maintained and continually improved.
As a minimum, we will comply fully with the requirements of all of the relevant environmental laws/regulations and any other relevant requirements seeking to exceed them wherever possible.
We recognise the importance of education and communication. Therefore, we will undertake the necessary training in order to implement and sustain this policy.
- Energy (Resources)
We recognise that the waste of energy is an un-necessary cost and has an impact on the environment. Therefore we will endeavour to pursue an ongoing programme of energy efficiency.
We recognise that un-neccessary waste is inefficient, adds cost and has unnecessary environmental impacts. We will therefore endeavour to prevent and if not possible, recover, reuse and recycle.
- Biodiversity, Amenity and Land Restoration
Wherever possible, we will aim to protect and conserve local bio-diversity.
- New Site Development
Whenever there is a new process or site development, we will assess the impact this will have on the environment.
- New Products
We are aware that there will be disposal implications associated with our products. Therefore, we will endeavour, wherever possible, to improve the product design in order to minimise the potential environmental impacts on disposal.
Within our audit and review cycle we will report on our environmental performance annually and the setting/reviewing of objectives and targets and use this as a base for year on year improvements.
